Sidney Rice out for rest of spring....

South Carolina's sensational sophomore wide receiver Sidney Rice received some good news and bad news on Wednesday.Rice, named earlier in the day to the NationalChamps.net 2006 pre-season second-team All America squad, has been diagnosed with a broken left thumb and will be sidelined for the duration of spring practice.He will not play in the spring game scheduled for April 8 at 2 p.m.USC has completed nine practices this spring with six remaining, including the spring game."Sidney broke his thumb," USC head coach Steve Spurrier said in a prepared statement released by the Sports Information Office. "He will not participate in the spring game, but should be at full speed for summer workouts." Rice is scheduled to undergo surgery on the thumb Thursday afternoon. USC's summer conditioning program is scheduled to begin in early June.A broken finger is nothing new to Rice. He sustained a broken left little finger early in fall camp last August and underwent surgery. He missed the season opener against Central Florida before making his USC debut the following week at Georgia.Rice caught 70 passes, the second highest single season total in school history, for 1,143 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2005 as a redshirt freshman. He was a consensus first-team All-SEC selection after finishing first in the league and fifth in the country with an average of 103.9 receiving yards per game. Rice set the USC single-season marks for receiving yards and touchdown catches, and caught a touchdown pass in a school-record eight-straight games. He culminated his season with a 12-catch, 191-yard performance against Missouri in the Gamecocks' 38-31 loss in the Independence Bowl.

My Gamecocks going to Championship game in basketball

Championship game in NIT that is.:( Yea it's a little disappointing but hey think of it this way , there's only 6 college basketball teams thats still playing. So it can't be all that bad. So now I just hope and pray that they can take careof Michigan the way they took out Louisville.
